Tim's Almost Last Ride

Updated: Dec 22, 2025

Hi There,

Since Tim wasn’t able to make the official Last Ride of the Year to Stockton, AL on the 30th of Dec, Tim wanted to head to the Stagecoach Café on Sunday instead. I met up with Tim W, Joe W, Dennis O., and Greg L. at GTD to start this little adventure. When Joe W mentioned that we may get rain, I (Joejoe) quickly checked the weather radar and then decided to put on my wet riding gear. It was a good thing too, as it started raining lightly before we left Fort Walton Beach. Tim made a stop in Holt to take a break and check something odd on his Spyder. It seems the rear belt tensioner was on the fritz and his belt was out of alignment too. Tim made the executive decision to turn around and head home before things got worse. I escorted him home to ensure he made it OK. Before we headed out, Tim attempted to pass his Garmin Route to Joe W's Garmin, but Joe's Garmin locked up and would not reset or shut down. (Play ominous music here). After escorting Tim home, I received a text from the rest of the crew. The group determined that the rain was too much and the roads were too slick, so they also turned around and headed home. So, everyone did not make it to Stockton, but they all had a fairly nice ride for a gloomy Sunday morning. I ended up riding 89 pleasant, slightly damp miles.
